Cell Phones at School
A reminder about the use of cell phones in school. Cell phones and other personal communication devices are to be turned off and kept out of sight during instructional time, unless otherwise permitted by the teacher for instructional purposes. Cell phones are not allowed outside at recess, lunch or anytime in hallways or washrooms. If students need to contact parents, they are expected to do so through the office with the permission of their teacher. Students should not be texting at school, taking photos of any kind, or going on social media. Failure to abide by this may result in confiscation of their electronic device. Please speak to your child about this at home and help us keep our school safe. Should you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the office.
Drop Off and Pick Up - Parking in the Fire Zone
Please note that parking is not permitted in the Bus Zone/Fire Zone in the front. Cars may be ticketed by the city. Please use the parking spaces in front of the school to park your car before coming into the office. You can also park on the street if there are no parking spaces in front of the school. Never leave your car parked, idling or unattended especially with children inside! Drive slowly, be aware of your surroundings, obey the road rules, crosswalks, and speed limits. As always, the safety of our students is our top priority. Please give yourself enough time and be patient with other drivers and our staff.
End of Day - Early Pick-Ups
Though we encourage families to make appointments and other engagements outside of our school hours, we understand that sometimes this is not possible. To limit disruptions to end of day routines in classrooms, we ask that any early pick-ups be completed by 2:30pm. The last 30 minutes of the school day is a busy time for students and staff who are engaged in many end of day activities, and we would like to limit any additional disruptions to the learning of all of our students during this time. As always, please try to inform the office and your child’s teacher by email/Edsby ahead of time.
Families Planning to Move
Students not returning in September As we begin our planning for the 2025-2026 school year, we kindly ask you to inform the school office if your family has plans to move over the summer, or if your children will not be returning in September for any reason. This information helps us to ensure a smooth transition for all students and to make necessary staffing arrangements for the upcoming academic year. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps us in planning effectively for the new school year. Thank you for your support.
